apple and beet juice

There are 3 types of fresh juice that serious juice enthusiasts hold in high esteem, these are leafy green juices, wheatgrass juice and beet juice. Beet juice is considered to have especially potent detoxification abilities because of its rich content of antioxidants and other nutrients that support the detoxification process. In fact, its detoxification abilities should not be underestimated. It is not uncommon for people to experience the symptoms of a detoxification such as headaches after drinking a glass of juice. If this is the case for you then reduce your dose and build up slowly.

Ok – so on to the recipes. Yay!

Oh, and one more thing, beet greens are totally edible and are actually very good for you. Juice the greens right along with your beets and add the power of green juice to your beet juice recipes. No need to peel the beets either if they are organic, just wash them well. The skin is an excellent source of antioxidants.

How to do a Lemon Juice Cleanse?

March 26, 2012

lemon juice cleanseAre you interested in following the lemon juice detox plan, also known as the master cleanse? If so, follow the instructions below to guide you through this popular detox plan that has helped many people flush toxins from their bodies.

1) Talk to your doctor. Any detox diet plan is a serious matter that you need to consult with your doctor about. Even though a lemon detox diet plan is made up of 100 percent natural ingredients, you still need to hear what your physician recommends. Keep in mind that reactions to a detoxification diet plan can vary. Your doctor’s view can help you determine whether or not this detox diet plan is suitable for your body. You also need to understand the potential risks involved with this detox diet.

2) Preparing for the diet. It is important to prepare yourself physically, emotionally and mentally. Keep in mind that after beginning a lemon detox diet plan you’ll experience physical changes that may be strange to you. You can do that by steadily decreasing your intake of junk food before you begin your diet plan. This way, one’s body won’t be too surprised by the new changes in diet.

3) Gather the ingredients. Purchase all necessary ingredients. For the lemon detox diet you will need lemon juice (fresh squeezed), purified water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Before collecting the ingredients, keep in mind that the diet is a 100 percent all-natural diet. What this means is that you shouldn’t replace any ingredients with artificial ones. For instance, don’t substitute all-natural lemon juice with concentrated lemon juice.

4) The lemon detox diet recipe. Once you’ve collected all of the ingredients, it’s time to get the recipe ready.

Lemon detox diet ingredients (1 serving)
8 oz. purified water
2 tbsp. of organic lemon juice (fresh squeezed, approx. 1/2 a lemon)
2 tbsp. Grade B organic maple syrup
1/10th of tsp. of cayenne pepper
Optional – ground ginger, to taste

Get 4 oz. of water and mix it with the lemon juice and add 2 tbsp. of grade B organic maple syrup. Add 1/10th of tsp. of cayenne pepper. You may also use a little ground ginger. After adding all of the ingredients, mix and then add an additional 4 oz. of purified water. You need to take this beverage 8 to 10 time a day.

The recommended time for the lemon detox diet is 10 days. Should you want to exceed the 10 days standard time, you must do so under a doctor’s supervision. However, you may still do it for a shorter time. This is good for people trying it out for the very first time.

How to Clear Acne With Green Juice

October 03, 2011

Getting rid of acne is no easy task, because if it was nobody would have acne in the first place. What makes things even worse is that many of us even make it more difficult again to clear acne, because we are going the wrong way about it.

wheatgrass juiceIf you believe that you are going to clear acne by using over the counter acne products that are full of chemicals and harsh ingredients, then think again. I had been going down this route for many years, without the desired results I was looking for.

Once I changed direction and started using more holistic approaches, mixed in with more modern technologies such as the ANSR beam , then the results started to come. And the one thing that was extremely beneficial was green juice.

The Power Of Green Juice

We all know that eating our greens is extremely important for optimal health, but for extraordinary health benefits then try juicing your greens. When greens have been juiced it makes the vitamins and minerals easily absorbable for the body, meaning you get maximum benefits from them.

If you drink 1-3 cups of green juice per day, you will see significant improvements in your acne, and over-all health also. The reason for this is because the green juice will help to build the blood, remove toxins, provide the body with the required vitamins and minerals, plus there are many more benefits that juice will have on the body, all leading to a happier, healthier and acne free you.

Green Juice Recipes

Green Juice 1: 1/4 of red Cabbage, 2-3 stalks of Celery, 4-5 leaves of Kale, 1 Lemon, 3 Apples, little amount of ginger.

Green Juice 2: 1/2 pear, 1/2 green apple, handful spinach, handful parsley, 2 celery stalks, ½, cucumber, small piece ginger, slice of papaya.

Green Juice 3: 1 lemon 1/2 cup parsley, chopped 1 rib of celery, 2 big handfuls of Spinach, 1 pince of peeled ginger, 1 medium cucumber.

These are 3 green juice recipes I often make that I have found to work very well at keeping my system clean and clear, meaning no acne breakouts. If you have never made a green juice before I would recommend using the above, once you have made a few then start experimenting to see what works for you.

Do I Need To Add SuperFoods For This To Work?

No! You do not need to add any super foods such as spirulina or wheat grass. If you have the extra funds to use them, then it will do no harm, but you absolutely do not have to infest in any sort of expensive “superfood” for this to work. Spinach, cabbage and kale along with the other greens you can buy from the supermarket will have just as much benefits, however there is one thing that is important, that you buy as much organic as possible. The reason for this is because foods that are not organic have usually been sprayed with man-made chemicals that will build up in the body as toxins, which can eventually lead to acne breakouts.

Make Carrot Juice | 5 Tips for Making Carrot Juice Tastier

September 14, 2011

making delicious carrot juiceLast year I bought an Omega Juicer and quickly learned that as much as I loved juicing, it was an expensive habit. I could easily spend $100 alone on just making wheat grass shots, never mind the other drinks I was making every day – sometimes more than once! With a budget firmly in mind, I started concentrating on making the best tasting yet  cheapest drinks I could make. I circled in on using organic carrots as the main ingredient, since they are the most economical option for drinks, and then experimented with ways to liven up the flavor. In this guest post I want to share with you some of the tips I’ve learned for making carrot juice tastier!

1. Cilantro for Refreshment
I’m a cilantro lover, liberally adding it to just about any dish or salad I’m making. But why stop with solid food? Hence, I began to add it to my carrot juice and discovered it compliments the taste very, very well. I know you might be thinking that cilantro is a very strange thing to add, but please try it before you knock it! I’ve converted skeptical friends by having them taste it and they agree, it works. It gives it a nice refreshing, satisfying kick that rounds out the flavor.

2. Crushed Ice for Texture
Crushed ice is another trick I learned early on that makes my drinks tastier. Mainly what I’m going for here is obviously not flavor but something else – texture. I find that adding a small but thick layer of crushed ice to my juice after it’s fully blended improves both the texture and the aesthetic appeal, as the appearance of the ice makes it look more complete.

3. Ginger for Zest
Buying a little bit of ginger root and keeping it on hand goes a long way for altering the taste of your drinks. A small amount of ginger – about the size of a dime – will give it a zesty burst of flavor. Additionally, ginger has many digestive health properties and this is a good way to incorporate those benefits into your diet.

4. Apple for Sweetness
Adding an apple to your carrot juice will make the drink taste lighter and much sweeter. If you have fancy yourself as having a sweet tooth, you will probably find it necessary to sweeten your carrot juice, as it is naturally not very sweet at all. I prefer the tart sweetness of a green Golden Delicious apple for my drinks.

5. Banana for Increased Thickness
One day I added a banana on a whim, without really any idea of how my Omega would treat it. I wasn’t sure if it would really juice or just gunk those up. Turns out it adds a nice thickening to the entire drink, making it a bit more like a carrot smoothie than normal carrot juice. This is a good way to dramatically change the texture, giving the drink more bulk, and add a bit more calories to the drink to make it more suitable as a breakfast replacement.

What other ways do you enjoy making carrot juice?

This article is by Ben Jacobs. If you’re a fan of juicing, raw foods, and radical health, check out my food processor juicer review. Does it really work to combine a juicer and a food processor in one machine? I explore this question by looking at all the combination machines on the market and seeing how well they work – or don’t work – in their goal of a two in one juicing machine.

Natural Morning Sickness Remedies

Natural morning sickness remedies

slimming teaThree fourths of all pregnant women experience morning sickness, the slightly inaccurate term to describe pregnancy nausea and vomiting. This makes it one of the most universal pregnancy signs out there, and of course one that most women would rather rid themselves of. Thankfully, there are many natural remedies that can help women feel better. What can you do to safely attempt to remedy morning sickness?

Bland crackers for breakfast

Read any article about pregnancy nausea, and you are very likely to come across the advice to eat dry toast or bland crackers (like rice crackers) in the morning, before even getting up. This advice is rather common, because it actually very effective for many women. Even if you do vomit after your bland, unsalted “breakfast”, throwing up is going to be less unpleasant than it would have been on an empty stomach.

Eat small meals frequently

There is a strong connection between low blood sugar levels and pregnancy nausea, so it is no surprise that eating smaller meals frequently throughout the day offers relief to many expectant mothers. Try eating five small meals. If you incorporate proteins like boiled eggs, beans, tofu, and peanuts into your diet, your blood sugar levels will remain more stable and your nausea will probably be reduced a little.

Herbal remedies

Drinking red raspberry leaf (RRL) tea, using fresh or dried ginger in foods, sipping dried peach leaf tea, and using a peppermint infusion are all known herbal remedies for morning sickness. Lemon is also a powerful nausea reliever. Red raspberry leaf tea is a uterine tonic and helps women all through their quest to motherhood. While you are still wondering how to get pregnant, it helps increase your fertility, and it plays a role in preparing for an easier birth later on in pregnancy as well.

Know your triggers

Women in their first trimester of pregnancy will notice that some foods and smells induce nausea. Eating greasy, highly processed, or spicy foods causes problems for many newly pregnant women. Take note of your morning sickness triggers, and avoid them as much as possible to gain some relief from nausea and vomiting. Stuffy rooms and smells like stale cigarette smoke also causes morning sickness in many expectant mothers.
