Juicing Recipes for Energy

juicer recipes for energyNeed a little extra zip, and you want to do it naturally, healthily and without the aid of stimulants. If so you’re in the right place. Here are some great juicer recipes for energy that you can make at home with your juice extractor. Green juices and citrus fruit juices are especially good for providing energy because of their detoxification abilities and their natural electrolytes respectively. Enjoy!

Energy Juice Recipe #1 – Get-up-and-go Greens
1 apples
3 celery stalks
handful of spinach
handful of kale
1″ slice of ginger

This get-up-and-go juice is a fantastic energy enhancer. It’s packed with blood-purifying greens, minerals and vitamins. Spinach and kale are abundant with beta-carotene and vitamin C. It helps with liver cleansing and supports blood flow. Celery is an extremely alkaline vegetable and helps with digestion. It gives you a good amount of magnesium, calcium and natural sodium, which together helps transmit signals from our brains to our muscles so that they function properly, clearly a benefit for energy levels. Ginger is excellent at helping to reduce inflammation in the body, especially in the joints, therefore helping to support maneuverability.

Juicing Recipes for Energy #2 – Citrus Electrolyte Blast
2 oranges
1/2 a large pink grapefruit
1 tangerine
1/2 of a lemon

Oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, limes and lemons–try to have these fruits always on hand because they are excellent natural sources of electrolytes. Oranges are an especially great choice. That’s why you might have seen athletes knocking back some juicy slices or downing an orange juice. Citrus juice really does make for great juicer recipes for energy. Don’t juice the peels they make for a very unpleasant taste and contain oils that can upset digestion. The white pith, however, is very healthy and loaded with antioxidants, more so than the flesh in fact!

Juice Recipes for Energy #3 – Veggie Vroom
4 Carrots
1 apple
3 Stalks of celery
1 Handful of spinach
1/4 cup of fresh parsley

Parsley is quite powerful and must always be combined with other juices. Use only tiny amounts at any given time. Parsley is rich in vitamin C and is known as a general stimulant for the body. Celery juice is a great neural tonic and overall body builder. It can help with muscle exhaustion. This juice is good for healthy hair and skin too.

Juice Diet Recipes for Weight Loss | Juice Diet Plan

Drinking fresh made juices can be a great addition to any diet program even though juicing is not a weight loss program in itself. Even though some people undertake juice fasts to lose weight, I think this can be a very dramatic way of losing weight and can fall into the category of ‘yo yo diets’. In the end those who keep a healthy weight stay moderate and don’t use extreme methods. Juice fasting can be a great way to detox but this is only recommended if you already have a somewhat healthy diet. Otherwise the detox might be too intense and release more toxins than you can handle.

Fruit Juice or Vegetable Juice
A key part of any healthy eating program should be to balance blood sugar levels and keep them even. Erratic blood sugar levels can lead to carbohydrate/sugar cravings and irritability that can make your weight loss aims more difficult. For this reason, I recommend sticking with vegetable juices mostly. Fruit juices contain a lot more sugar than vegetable juices. A juice diet recipe that includes some hearty carrot juice can make a great snack that helps keep blood sugar even and therefore aid a juice diet plan.

The Nutrient Factor
All fresh made juices are excellent source of nutrition that can help us to feel more energetic and fight of some of the ‘blues’ of dieting. With many diet programs there is the problem of not getting enough nutrition in your diet as a result of eating less food/calories. Juicing can provide extra nutrition in abundance.

Fat Burning Herbs and Spices
There are group of foods that can help us to burn a few extra calories each day because of their effect upon are metabolism and other factors. These foods can be used in our juice diet recipes to help our weight loss efforts. Of course, I am not talking about salmon and whole grains for your juice diet recipes but herbs and spices that can be added to your fresh juices.

Cinnamon is great because of its scientifically proven ability to regulate blood sugar levels. Even blood sugar = less cravings 🙂

Cayenne Pepper can add sip to the taste and the fat burning effectiveness of your juice diet recipes. Hot spices have been shown to help raise the metabolism for up to 3 hours after consuming them

Ginger, just like cayenne pepper, raises the metabolism so more calories can be burned each day. Ginger is also great for joint pain and inflammation.

Free Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Recipes

If you have recently bought a Jack Lalanne power juicer and you are looking for some great juicer recipes, then look no further. Here is a selection of 5 healthy and tasty free Jack LaLanne power juicer recipes that are ideally suited for your power juicer machine. I have also included some of the health benefits that each of these juices can provide.

Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Recipe #1

Apple Juice
[cincopa 10650850]

Ingredients – 3 apples.

I always juice my apples with their skins on to take advantage of the many antioxidants that are in the skins. In fact there are more bioflavonoids, potent anti-cancer and anti-heart disease antioxidants, in the skin of apples than there are in the actual pulp of this fruit! The skins are also a great source of a LDL cholesterol lowering fiber called pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that makes it into the juice, only insoluble fibers are discarded by your Jack LaLanne power juicer. So when people say that juicing removes all the fiber – it ain’t true! Pectin is great because it binds with LDL cholesterol in the intestines before it gets a chance to be absorbed into the blood stream, therefore helping to lower cholesterol levels.

If the apples you are juicing are not organic, then it may be a better to peel them to reduce the amount of harmful carcinogenic pesticides in your juice.

Apple, Lemon and Ginger
[cincopa 10650885]

Ingredients – 3 apples, 1/4 lemon and 1″ slice of ginger root

Apples can be juiced whole, see Jack LaLanne power Juicer Recipe #1 for more details about this. Only juice the flesh of the lemon. The whole 1″ slice of ginger can be juiced, no need for peeling.

Ginger has been used for 1000’s of years in China as an anti-inflammatory aid for reducing joint pain and arthritic symptoms. Researchers today have also found this to be true. There is a specific antioxidant in ginger, named gingerol, that can help inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body.

Carrot, Celery and Red bell Pepper
Carrot celery and red bell pepper juicer recipe

Ingredients – 4 large carrots, 4 celery stems and their leaves and 1/4 of a red bell pepper.

Rinse all ingredients thoroughly for this Jack LaLanne power juicer recipe. Cut off the carrot tops but no need to peel the carrots if they are organic. Don’t juice the seeds or the top of the bell pepper, just the main flesh of the vegetable.

Celery is one of the best vegetables for reducing blood pressure and promoting overall heart health. Celery contains antioxidants that help the muscles of the arteries to relax and therefore lower blood pressure. Celery is also a good source of heart healthy vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to protect our arteries from oxidative damage that can lead to atherosclerosis.

Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Recipe #4

Sweet Greens
Ingredients – 2 cups of pineapple (flesh only), 1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of wheatgrass.

Cut up two cups worth of pineapple flesh. Rinse spinach and wheat grass and juice them while they are wet. While wet they carry a little more weight and this helps with extracting more juice from them. For even extra juice yield wrap the wheatgrass up in the spinach before juicing.

The spinach and wheatgrass in this green juice recipe are excellent sources of the antioxidant chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been found in test tube studies to be extremely effective at protecting cells from becoming cancerous by protecting our DNA from oxidative damage that can lead to mutated DNA patterns. Chlorophyll also helps to build red blood cells because its chemical nature is almost identical to that of a part of our red blood cells called hemin. When we actually digest chlorophyll our digestive enzymes converts it 100% into hemin!

Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Recipe #5

The Great Eight

Ingredients – 3 carrots, 1/2 potato, 3 broccoli florettes, 1/2 a beet, 1/4 of a red bell pepper, 1 tomato, 1/2 of a cucumber. A 1″ slice of ginger is optional.

This impressive vegetable juice drink is a great all round tonic. It is good for strengthening the blood, cancer prevention, promoting healthy skin, boosting the immune system and a whole lot more!

To your health and well being
