Ingredients – 3 apples.
I always juice my apples with their skins on to take advantage of the many antioxidants that are in the skins. In fact there are more bioflavonoids, potent anti-cancer and anti-heart disease antioxidants, in the skin of apples than there are in the actual pulp of this fruit! The skins are also a great source of a LDL cholesterol lowering fiber called pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that makes it into the juice, only insoluble fibers are discarded by your Jack LaLanne power juicer. So when people say that juicing removes all the fiber – it ain’t true! Pectin is great because it binds with LDL cholesterol in the intestines before it gets a chance to be absorbed into the blood stream, therefore helping to lower cholesterol levels.

If the apples you are juicing are not organic, then it may be a better to peel them to reduce the amount of harmful carcinogenic pesticides in your juice.

Ingredients – 3 apples, 1/4 lemon and 1″ slice of ginger root
Apples can be juiced whole, see Jack LaLanne power Juicer Recipe #1 for more details about this. Only juice the flesh of the lemon. The whole 1″ slice of ginger can be juiced, no need for peeling.

Ginger has been used for 1000′s of years in China as an anti-inflammatory aid for reducing joint pain and arthritic symptoms. Researchers today have also found this to be true. There is a specific antioxidant in ginger, named gingerol, that can help inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body.

Carrot, Celery and Red bell Pepper

Carrot celery and red bell pepper juicer recipe

Ingredients – 4 large carrots, 4 celery stems and their leaves and 1/4 of a red bell pepper.

Rinse all ingredients thoroughly for this Jack LaLanne power juicer recipe. Cut off the carrot tops but no need to peel the carrots if they are organic. Don’t juice the seeds or the top of the bell pepper, just the main flesh of the vegetable.

Sweet Greens

Ingredients – 2 cups of pineapple (flesh only), 1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of wheatgrass.

Cut up two cups worth of pineapple flesh. Rinse spinach and wheat grass and juice them while they are wet. While wet they carry a little more weight and this helps with extracting more juice from them. For even extra juice yield wrap the wheatgrass up in the spinach before juicing.
