Natural Anti-Aging Tips | Anti-Aging Nutrition

anti aging tipsThe signs of aging like wrinkles, hair loss, loss of bone density, heart ailment, diabetes, and high cholesterol to name a few are viewed by many as inevitable and even considered part of aging that we all have to deal with.

Far from this popular belief, aging is well within your control. Well, you can’t stop the number from adding up but you certainly can delay aging both in appearance and health.

If there’s one thing that the human race was not trained right from the start; it’s how to eat right. Believe it or not, we’ve all been eating all the wrong stuff. If you don’t believe this, check your own diet and list all the things you’re fond of! If you eat mostly raw fruits and vegetables, then congratulations as you’re helping your body fight aging and other degenerative diseases.

If this is your first time to hear about raw food diet and juicing, then you’re definitely not aware of the right anti-aging nutrition but don’t worry; having researched about it is a huge step towards defying aging both in appearance and health.

Have you ever seen people who seemed to look ten years younger than their actual age? Though some of them just have enough budget to pay for cosmetic makeovers, some are really young and healthy from within through natural anti-aging nutrition.

Now, what is anti-aging nutrition?

Nutrition and anti-aging encompasses healthy foods that you ingest in your body which may or may not include natural anti-aging health supplements.

Healthy foods consist of raw fruits and vegetables that’s filled with live nutrients and antioxidants. Ever wondered why your parents kept on telling you “to eat your vegetables”?

Eating bad foods regularly results to premature aging and a regular diet like this usually lead to degenerative diseases and bodily pains that you experience as you “age”.

The best thing to fight aging is by being conscious of the benefits of anti-aging nutrition. Having said that, fighting aging may simply mean changing your daily eating habits and choosing to eat right.

Maintaining a healthy diet may mean giving up bad foods that your body have became accustomed to which makes this even harder for many. Of course, you won’t have to give them all up right off the bat, as with everything, you can gradually shift from your bad food diet to say 25% raw and increase your intake as you become more comfortable with it.

Experts say that you must eat at least five bags of raw fruits and vegetables daily which can be virtually impossible to about 99% of the human race as we’ve got other things to do and we only have 24 hours a day, eight of which must be spent sleeping.

For this reason, juicer machines where invented so instead of trying to munch five bags of leafy greens a day, simply drink them up.

Of course, an effective anti-aging nutrition diet isn’t limited to eating raw and juicing. It may also mean giving up smoking and drinking, of course, you’re not really required to do so but if you want to defy aging, you know what the effects of these vices are to your health so it’s really common sense.

Natural Anti-aging Tips and Nutrition

Below are some tips to help you stay young and healthy. Remember, it’s never to late to change your eating habits; many of those who were diagnosed with degenerative diseases has improved their health conditions simply by changing their eating habits.

Drink a lot of waternatural anti aging
About 70% of our total body weight is water. Dehydration is a common cause of headaches/dizziness, tiredness, hot flashes, muscle and joint pains, and lack of energy. You may not be aware of it but water plays a vital part in eliminating toxins our of our body so make sure you get at least eight glasses of water each day.

Maintain a fiber-rich diet
Even if you don’t regularly juice fresh fruits and vegetables (which comes highly recommended, by the way), make it a point to maintain a fiber-rich diet. This goes without saying that fruits and vegetables make up at least 60% of your diet. I know, this may seem impossible at first but then, there’s no such thing as “can’t”, only “won’t”. As with any other thing, it just takes a little getting used to.

Eliminate or Minimize bad foods from your diet
Bad foods have always been “deliciously sinful” that so many have a hard time giving them up but remember that we really shouldn’t be eating them in the first place. Anything that stores toxic wastes and cholesterol in your body should be avoided. Take note that this includes canned and other processed foods.

Minimize Your Calorie Intake
Replacing your regular diet with fruits and vegetables will dramatically reduce the calories you consume. As you may know by now, fruits and vegetables can be consumed in their liquid state through juices and smoothies. Regularly drinking fruit and vegetable smoothies and juices will lessen your appetite for bad foods while at the same time nourishes your body with much needed nutrients and antioxidants.

Use Natural Sweeteners
When sweetening your food and beverages, make sure to use only natural sweeteners as artificial ones store toxins in your body. You can choose from either honey or stevia.

Lead a Clean Lifestyle
Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and other vices that can decline your health. I know that you’re aware of this and this is a serious matter if you want to stay young and healthy.

Exercise Regularly

Now, you may think that a regular exercise isn’t part of nutrition but it actually is. Cardio exercises help keep your vascular system in top shape. Not only that, a regular fitness program will generally make you fit and look younger and since you’re putting all the right stuff and avoiding the bad ones with your food intake; this combo will surely make you glow from within.

Develop the “Smile” Habit
Smiling is one of the easiest things to do that most of us tend to forget with all the clutters in our lives. A smile, coupled with a positive attitude will lessen your stress; stress that can “age” you. Always remember that no matter how worse a situation may look like, it doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world. So don’t worry yourself with things that may never happen at all. Your mind too is a strong factor that can make you look younger or older than the numbers. Smile and be positive!

Applying this as one of your key natural anti-aging tips will change your life for the better; you will feel younger, healthier, and with more energy.

The Cardovascular Health Benefits of a Possible New Fruit Juice Drink

grape juiceA new berry fruit juice recipe blend that may lower the risk of heart disease has been put together by French scientists.

Polyphenol antioxidants are located in many foods such as red wine, red grapes, dark chocolate, citrus fruits, berries and green tea. Their advantageous impact on health is now a well-known fact, with a diet that is abundant with polyphenol antioxidants connecting strongly with a lowered risk of heart disease. This is simply because polyphenol antioxidants boost the release of vasodilators (substances that dilate all blood vessels, especially the major arteries leading to the heart), like nitric oxide, from specific cells which line the inside surface of arteries. Any abnormality of this essential function is noticed in most kinds of heart disease, such as high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis and diabetes.

Wanting to develop a healthier alternative to chocolate or alcohol, the team of French scientists collaborated with a fruit drink producing company in Germany called the Eckes-Granini Group of Neider-Olm, to formulate as well as test a number of various fruit juice drink blends. Different fruits consist of different polyphenol antioxidants, which can often be bitter to the taste. For example, grapes consist a large amounts of sub-categorized polyphenols called anthocyanins and procyanidins that give the dark red color to berries. The fruit juice blends were tested for their taste and their influence on the vasodilation of pig’s arteries in vitro.

The French scientists discovered that the most successful blend that produced the least bitter flavor contained a base content of 63% grape juice, mixed with apple, strawberry, blueberry, lingonberry, aronia and acerola. This blend didn’t possess the best overall polyphenol antioxidant levels, but the scientists observed that this particular combination brought on a larger increase in vasodilation compared to other blends. Schini-Kerth, one of the scientists advises: ‘Most juices you buy in the supermarket possess a low biological activity level. Purchasing fruit juice drinks that offer something more is a crucial message for buyers.’

Cristina Andrés-Lacueva, a specialist in polyphenol antioxidant bioactivity at Barcelona University, Spain, illustrates that the polyphenol antioxidant profile of each fruit blend wasn’t analyzed so it may vary from that of each component fruit. She states that the next thing would be to perform clinical studies in vivo with humans and/or animals.

The health benefits for cardiovascular health with regular consumption of these kinds of a fruit juice drinks over an extended period continues to be established, says Schini-Kerth.

Smart Alternatives to Foods High in Cholesterol

Sometimes people can be left in the dark when they are simply told to eliminate foods high in cholesterol. It’s a lot easier to stay away from high cholesterol foods when you have tasty alternatives to choose from. The more you know about food and nutrition, the more choices you can give yourself on a daily basis. It’s important to keep a variety in mind so that you don’t get bored of eating the same thing over and over again. No matter how healthy a particular choice may be, you’ll undoubtedly be craving your old favorites if you don’t actually enjoy eating your new menu. Just remember that there are many great alternatives for all types of foods high in cholesterol and you should always keep an open mind to try new recipes when possible.

Red meat is something that you should be careful of when it comes to cholesterol. There are benefits to red meat such as the fact it is one of the best foods high in iron and protein. But of course eating excess red meat can cause other health complications if you don’t use moderation. While no one is telling you to eliminate your favorite red meat dishes completely, you shouldn’t be eating it every day either. It’s also a good idea to take a careful look at your method of food preparation so that you’re employing healthier methods that reduce your cholesterol and overall caloric intake. An alternative to red meat might be a nice chicken dish or perhaps even salmon which works well with a variety of side dishes in addition to helping to lower your cholesterol as well.

One area that gives people a love troubles is snack foods, and things high in saturated fats such as potato chips are popular snack choices. It’s extremely easy to lose track of exactly how much you consume when it comes to these types of snack foods since many people eat them while watching television and not paying attention to how much they are eating. You should always read the labels carefully on any snack food that you eat and make sure that saturated and trans fats are kept to a minimum. Snacking itself is actually quite healthy if you go about it the right way so look for alternatives in the realm of fruits and vegetables. There are a variety of fresh produce choices that you can make healthy snacks and provide you a lot more nutrition than anything like cookies or nacho chips. With the right choices you can still enjoy eating and how great experiences with food while doing the healthy things necessary to lower your overall cholesterol.

Does Orange Juice Have Calcium?

If you are searching for an answer to the question “does orange juice have calcium?”, then you are probably here for one of two reasons:

1) – You have heard that orange juice you can buy at the store is fortified with extra calcium and are checking up on this. If this is the case, then your right, there are many commercially available orange juice products that contain extra calcium. One study shows that the calcium in fortified calcium orange juice products is highly bio-available (meaning we absorb and use a lot of it, rather than pee it out). The same study also shows that the calcium in fortified apple juice is even more bio-available than that in orange juice. Either way, both are great sources of dietary calcium.

However, there are a few things to note. Commercial fruit juices (as a rule) are a mere shadow of fresh-made juice in terms of overall nutritional content (with the exception of what they are fortified with). The processing methods (heating and filtering to remove bacteria) needed to give commercial juice a shelf life destroys the majority of antioxidants found naturally in orange juice, of which vitamin C is a good example. Also, commercial juice often delivers additional sugar and chemicals along with the calcium. In my opinion, fresh is always better for these reasons.

2) – You like making fresh juice and you want to know how much calcium it contains. First of all, I am happy to hear you are going for fresh juice!

Orange Juice And Calcium
– The answer is that 1 cup of fresh raw orange juice calcium content is 27mg according to the USDA nutrient database.
