Balance Your Diet and Reclaim Your Life

Balance the alkalinity in your diet – reap the benefits

The pH miracle

There are many people out there who are trying their best to live a healthy life. However, all of the calorie counting, watching of the fat grams and keeping a close eye on the portions of food is long gone. You really do not have to worry about any of that, ever again. You have probably had to experience your fair share of low energy, poor digestion and extra weight. All of the aches and pains and diseases that you might have been dealing with might be nothing more than a poor diet. It is time to stop all of this madness, especially since there are so many ways you can make it all change for the better.

Believe it or not, the key to a lean body that is trim, better health overall and more mental clarity is nothing more than proper pH balance in your blood. You want to strike the best possible balance of 80/20 for the acidic and alkaline that you receive through the consumption of certain types of foods. As you might imagine, this could be something that would be rather difficult to figure out on your own. Thankfully, there is a diet program out there that will be able to work with the chemistry of your body in order to revitalize your health and keep it that way.

With this new diet, you will have a breakfast that is low in carbs but high in fiber, which is probably going to be one of the biggest changes that you are going to make to your daily routine. That doesn’t sound all that bad, does it? Of course not and yet you are going to receive so many benefits from it. You will also go through a small and totally safe liquid cleansing, or liquid detox, in order to make sure that you are reducing as many of the impurities in your body as possible. You will finally come to a point where you are able to have a normalized metabolism and digestion system. With this, you will be able to rid your body of all of the harmful molds, bacteria and yeast that is has been holding on to.

You are also going to learn how to properly mix alkaline foods, such as tomatoes, green veggies and avocados, with acidic foods, such as grains, fish and various fruits. Of course, you are also going to have to make sure that you are starting to drink enough water, which is not something that a lot of people are doing on their own. But it can’t just be any water, you have to make sure that the water is pure and totally safe for drinking.

As you can see, you have the ability to make a lot of great changes in your life thanks to getting control of your pH balance. All you have to do is to put a little trust out there and go for it. Within a very short amount of time, you are going to be able to notice a great deal of change, not just externally, but internally as well.

Dealing With Baby’s Hiccups

hiccups in newbornsNo matter how annoying hiccups can get, you can still deal with them by simply waiting for them to stop. Besides, you know for a fact that hiccups last for a few minutes only. However, it seems almost impossible not to get worried when it is our babies, particularly the newborns, who get hiccups. May be we are thinking that such simple uncomfortable condition is too much for a newborn baby to take. The truth is that a hiccup actually happens more often to newborns than any infant or adult. Further, it usually takes a longer time for hiccups in newborns to stop, not to mention that they may start having hiccups as early as six months from conception. Even so, there is nothing to worry with hiccups in newborns. They are too used to having one, that they, in fact, might be wondering why not everyone is having a hiccup.

Usually in adults, what causes hiccups are the person’s unhealthy eating and drinking habits, such as overeating, too much eating of spicy and hot food, eating too quickly and drinking too much alcohol and carbonated beverages. Others even believe that hiccups in adults have to do with smoking excessively. On the other hand, newborns get hiccups when they are excited or after a feed. Hence, it seems that it is easier for newborns to get hiccups, but it is probably because of the relative immaturity of the internal organs of a baby.

Since there are very few reasons why newborns are more regularly experiencing hiccups, there are actually no remedies at all to hiccups in newborns. Doctors would usually tell parents to just patiently wait for the hiccups to stop. Besides, as the baby grows, the intensity and frequency of having a hiccup is reduced. Probably the other helpful thing to do is to help the baby burp right after a feed.

Easy Chinese Exercises, A Rich Health Resource

Easy Chinese Exercises, A Rich Health Resource

You can be older, healthier and happier, yes, you certainly can.

Do you know what it feels like to be able to rely mostly on your knowledge of you own body’s resources to remedy your health conditions?
Or even prevent them…

After all, what’s the point of longing for longevity if one is in suffering? Not so much, I think!

Having and knowing about the resources one has at one’s fingertips is our real wealth, at some level.
Yes, I am talking about getting to know the principles of and being able to apply simple methods to exercise our body to get it running like a very finely-tuned sports car engine.

These principles can be learned easily and are very interesting as they are so simple and logical, I’d say very natural. Chinese Medicine offers us (and has offered the Chinese people for several thousand years), some simple health practices through easy exercise routines that apply these principles.

What are these principles?

I’ll just name a few:
The Alternation of Stillness and Movement

They follow each other and one enhances the other. Look for stillness in movement and movement in stillness. Now, this might seem very theoretical and strange, but simply put, one has to get balanced in one’s life and too much stillness makes our energy stagnate and illness ensues, while too much movement makes our energy scattered, depleted and illness also ensues.
One has to learn to alternate these for our own benefit. It is very good to move our body in a predetermined way (more about this below). It is good to sit still after an exercise to be able to feel the sensations, our well-being and integrate it in our consciousness so we can keep a record of what the exercise brought to us. The ‘predetermined’ way I mean is what the Chinese know so well how to do. Their exercises can in fact be called ‘forms’, as each movement has a particular purpose within the form, aiming at a predetermined result or goal.

The practice of Tai Chi is a good illustration – not the only one – of these principles. Each movement of the form (predetermined movements) – although they all affect the importance of each other – harmonises the energy circulation and enhance the health of a particular organ.

Gentle and Rhythmic versus Hasty, Violent Movements

Slow, regular and consciously performed movements promote our energy as we do them – even recycling our energy – and therefore we can go on…forever almost! Rapid and violent movements have to stop quickly as they exhaust our energy pretty quickly, leaving us having to recuperate – and perhaps even stagnate.

The Circularity of All Natural Movement
The natural movement of almost everything in the universe, eg the planets, tends to move in circles, following a circular pattern, such as the stars and the planets and so do the energies of the human body.

All the movements of Tai Chi forms are a series of circles that reflect this eternal, cosmic law.

Candida Infection and Our Health

Candida Infection and Our Health
candida infectionIt’s an unfortunate truth that millions of people across the world suffer from seemingly unexplainable and unpleasant symptoms like chronic tiredness, recurring yeast infections and digestive issues. Candida infection might not even enter their thoughts.

Fatigue, headaches, rashes, bloating and yeast infections. All these symptoms have been linked to an overgrowth of Candida albicans – a common fungal organism naturally found in each one of us as a part of our intestinal flora. The problems arise when we eat too much sugar, take antibiotics for a prolonged period of time, or have a weakened immune system.

All these factors can ultimately lead to Candida infection – a condition that plagues so many people worldwide – yet most of them are unaware of it due to the lack of information presented in the mainstream media.

What Causes Candida Overgrowth?

Candida infection can occur when there’s an imbalance between good and bad bacteria in the digestive tract. It is common knowledge nowadays that antibiotics kill not only the bad guys – they also eliminate the good ones such as bifidobacterium and acidophilus, the bacteria that keep Candida under control. Another common culprit is a diet high in simple carbohydrates and sugars – good bacteria thrive on fiber, while the cells of Candida albicans feed on glucose.
„Candidiasis has been around for decades,“ explains Carolyn Dean, M.D., N.D. in her article published on NaturalNews. „Ever since we began to use antibiotics but neglected to replace the good bacteria that are destroyed along with the bad.“

Treatment of Candida Infection

Once the good bacteria are wiped out, there are several things patients can do to restore bacterial dominance in the intestinal tract. First off, it’s usually necessary to make certain dietary changes.candida infections That means following a healthy, low-glycemic diet plan that doesn’t nourish Candida and other pathogens in the body. Green vegetables, low-glycemic fruits, seeds, nuts, and high-quality organic animal proteins all work for a Candida-fighting diet.

Dietary modifications like these can bring relief quite quickly, but some people suffering from Candida infection will need more thorough treatment that involves probiotics and antifungal supplements. Probiotics help replenish the healthy bacteria in your gut and antifungals work on the principle of destroying the Candida cells. Both prescription drugs (Nystatin and Diflucan are the most commonly prescribed ones) and over the counter solutions are widely available – ask your doctor or a naturopath for advice and more information.

7 Reasons to Floss Regularly

  1. Prevent Sickness: the basic premise behind the idea of flossing and brushing is to remove germs and harmful bacteria from your mouth. If you can catch those buggers before they slide their way down your throat and do some real damage, then that’s just all the more power to you! Flossing removes the plaque and bacteria lodged between your teeth that a regular brushing can easily pass over.
  2. Tooth Decay Prevention: Besides brushing, flossing is the number one way to prevent tooth decay. That is, if you want your teeth to stay in your mouth! Flossing removes the hardened plaque which can harden furthermore into tartar; which will harbor nasty, tooth-dissolving bacteria.
  3. Cardiovascular Disease Prevention: Flossing regularly not only stops harmful plaque, tartar, and bacteria from entering into your body. But it prevents also the bacteria that can cause damage to organs; especially the heart. By flossing you can reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease greatly.
  4. Remove Bad Breath: Since brushing only removes approximately 65% of your mouth’s bacteria, the other 35% is up to flossing. That’s right folks; an entire 35% of your mouth’s germs are left over after brushing. Most of these durable, tough, and enduring germs are the ones that are linked to bad breath. So if you have a hot date; it pays to floss!
  5. Longevity: So you want to live a long, healthy life? Flossing is your answer. Along with other life-extending medicines, flossing is recommended by almost all doctors – dental or not. If you spend the three or so minutes a day to floss out your teeth, you could potentially add seven entire years to your life expectancy. That’s a lot for a simple task, don’t you think?
  6. Flossing to Tame your Appetite: Flossing and brushing does a tremendous amount in lessening the desire to eat. This idea goes along the same lines as that as showering and then digging in the sand. Your mind subconsciously decides against eating because, just like digging, would make no sense after cleaning. So if you are trying to lessen your appetite; just floss regularly and you won’t have as strong as a desire to eat!
  7. To Boost Confidence: Flossing regularly in conjunction with a fervent brushing schedule will pay off over time and give you those pearly whites that everyone envies and desires so very much. These pearly whites will not only make you feel cleaner, but it will also boost your confidence and people will take notice in that. Our teeth is our most sensitive and hidden feature of our face; and people either gain a lot of confidence or lose a lot of confidence depending on their whiteness.

The only known downside to flossing is that there is no instant gratification or results from our hard work. It may take weeks; possibly even months before our flossing begins to pay off and become noticeable. But remember to take heart and not be discouraged. If you can floss regularly you are doing yourself and others a huge favor by living a healthier lifestyle and being a great example. I mean come on, there’s no reason not to floss; don’t you want to live seven years longer?

Timothy Frisch, a student from the University of Wisconsin – Stout, has been flossing and brushing regularly since his parents instilled the value of it in him at a young age. He also believes in spreading his knowledge through ProbioticSmart.com, a company that carries such popular human health supplements as TymeZyme (helps the body repair itself after injury) and Debrox Ear Drops.  Timothy and ProbioticSmart.com share many of the same values on health and nutrition.
